Comme à l’accoutumé, le Championnat de France des rallyes démarre par la traditionnelle épreuve du Touquet-Pas de Calais (Depuis 2010).
Le Touquet : un rallye historique
Intégré au calendrier du Championnat de France depuis 1993, le rallye a vu de nombreux pilotes de renom venus ici pour apprendre la difficulté du terrain. Sébastien Loeb n'a cependant jamais réussi à l'emporter (il avait fait une sortie mémorable à bord de la Citroën Xsara Kit Car lors de l'édition 2001).
Sébastien Ogier six fois champion du monde en WRC a remporté le volant 206 Peugeot ici-même en 2007. Depuis 1998 l'épreuve accueille une manche VHC avec encore une fois un plateau de qualité pour cette édition 2019.
Touquet 2019, une promenade de 204 kilomètres
Cette année le rallye représentera un parcours chronométré de 204 kilomètres divisé en 2 étapes de 14 spéciales.
Affichant des têtes d'affiches digne d'une manche de WRC 2 (24 R5) l'édition 2019 à fière allure. Stéphane Lefebvre (ex-pilote Citroën Racing) présent ici même en C3 R5 aux couleurs Minerva Oil, fera partie des favoris.
Mais c'était sans compter sur un Quentin Gilbert plus que motivé pour cette nouvelle saison 2019 et qui a troqué pour le coup son ancienne Skoda Fabia R5 du team 2C Compétition pour une toute nouvelle et déjà très performante Polo R5 du team Italien HK Racing.
Mais il n'est pas le seul à avoir choisi une Polo durant l'intersaison, William Wagner ancien pilote de Ford Fiesta R5, à délaissé celle-ci pour intégrer le Sébastien Loeb Racing ayant acquis eux aussi une Polo.
Sans oublier Yoann Bonato tenant du titre 2017 et 2018 du Championnat de France des Rallyes Asphalte, toujours fidèle au team CHL Autosport et sa C3 R5, la lutte s'annonce des plus intenses !
A noter que le sextuple vainqueur de l'épreuve sera présent sur sa toujours aussi plaisante Ford Fiesta WRC (Seule voiture de la catégorie WRC inscrite).
